A Clearer View of Life Priorities – After a Break

Tonight I arrived home after two weeks of fun travel, events with friends, connection with the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains, time away to think and feel. I am back and cannot sleep because my head is spinning with ways that I want to change my life, my business, my focus, my priorities, my health, my landscaping, my interior decoration, among just a few things rattling around in my head!

Even though I have at times resented vacations because they disrupt the flow of life, this is actually a blessing for me! I am rather intense at times and can easily flip into a Type A personality and workaholic. This is not a pretty sight, is not good for my personal relationship with my mate, is stressful and generally unhealthy when I put my work before my SELF. It is good to have a break where I can look back at the life I’ve been living and have a clear perspective, based on my innermost values, of how I’d like to adjust the direction in which I’ve been heading and reshape my vision of where I am going.

Being away, having limited access to internet and telephone, depending on others to keep my business running, experiencing the lifestyles of friends we visited, changing eating habits, exercising at 9000 ft. altitude, experiencing new situations and adjusting my attitude accordingly, has all given me a new and broader perspective of my own life and its patterns and habits. I am grateful that I’ve had this experience – so that I can change and evolve.

One of the main concepts that I am going to adopt now more into my life is the concept of simplifying everything. Living out of a suitcase and a borrowed car, visiting others, and moving to several venues during a two-week period shows me that I am very happy without so much “stuff”. I also notice that I learned how to streamline my internet access during the trip and unsubscribed from many lists and reported lots of spam – so that I won’t be bothered by so much in-coming mail in the future. I also realize that I didn’t miss the weekly meetings, deadlines, stresses that I place on myself to jump through various hoops – just because others are doing something in a certain way. I feel that now I’ll be able to return to that path of honoring mySELF before honoring anybody or anything else, and the result will be that I will be able to better serve my clients, friends, family – and will have much more FUN doing it!!

It is easy for me to coach clients to see where they might be out of balance. Sometimes it takes a trip away from my life to see where my own life is out of balance. Now I will put back into place the best practices for my own energy management, keeping my highest values of Peace, Love, Joy in mind, so that these values are supported and reflected in every task that I perform.

I am grateful that I’ve had this opportunity!

And, as synchronicity often happens, I have just come upon a wonderful short video clip from the Abraham-Hicks work that reflects on this focus on contrasts in life in order to evolve to a new level. To view the video you may go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqZQfxra4ws&feature=rec-HM-r2. Enjoy!

A New Age of ONENESS and CHANGE

What a fun day for those of us lucky enough to participate in the Inauguration festivities!! For me it was such a unifying experience!!  Since I don’t use television anymore in my home, the FaceBook http://www.facebook.com /CNN http://www.ccn.com/live  partnership offered me the opportunity to participate with over a million others on-line as we all watched the oath of office, presidential speech, trip down Pennsylvania Avenue, Celebration Parade, and soon, coverage of some of the parties. As we watched we were able to make comments through-out for everybody else to see. It has been fun, and I DID get some work done including a tele-class, a coaching session, some writing, e-mails, updates, etc.

Oneness is one of my favorite topics. Both my MS and Ph.D. are in Cross-Cultural Communication, and I have been a specialist in diversity and multi-culturism for my entire adult life. To see the outflow of international connection and cameraderie today sharing in the celebration of Obama’s inauguration was a true joy to me. The world is getting much smaller in the areas of communication, trade, sharing in the technology as well as the environmental and social issues and problems. It is so important today that we band together in shared purpose to make positive changes come true!!  I think this new leader, President Barack Obama, has the background and motivation to support this!!

In looking at the profiles of Obama and Biden we have some richness that is much deeper than their education and professional experience. President Obama grew up in a multi-cultural family, and lived abroad and in various sections of this country. His life experience brings an understanding of humans and human nature that few people experience first-hand. VP Joe Biden has years of experience working with leaders from different nations. He also brings the strength of one who has lived through and grown from experiencing the Dark Night of the Soul – first when his wife and daughter were killed, and later when he almost died. Together these men are well armed with deep inner convictions founded on profound life experience. As a team they present a balance that has the potential for grounding the positive change that our nation and the world need right now.

Today there has been an outflow of support, excitement, connection, communication, celebration, hope, faith in the process, oneness!! For many it has been a LONG time since they felt this – especially on such a large scale!!  This presidency – on its very first day – has pulled the world together in hope and expectation. The key message I take from Obama’s Presidential speech is that it is time to wake up, be CONSCIOUS, and take responsibility!! http://www.ConsciousLivingEzine.com  The days of victimhood are over. There are proactive, positive roles for everyone to play. Now is the time of opportunity!!

So, let us join in and look for the positive!! Here is to our New Age of Oneness and Change!!

A Wonderful Day in Paradise Using My Alchemy!!

Today was such a wonderful day that I’m still up writing about it at 1:30 a.m. Today I started facilitating a series of four tele-classes entitled: 30 Days to Emotional Freedom for the New Year… and the Rest of Your Life. (You can find out more at: http://is.gd/cgO4 .) Over 200 people registered to attend the series. Not that many showed up for the live call today, but the RIGHT people were there!!

What I liked most about the call was the quality of the people. They called in from England, Canada, and all over the US. They were all willing to do whatever it takes to shift their lives for the better in this New Year. This is what kindles my passion. I love working with people who REALLY want to create a difference in their lives and are willing to go to a deeper level of consciousness to achieve that.

While I was leading a guided visualization I followed my own guidance to do it a bit differently than I usually facilitate the process. I was afraid at first that I would be too “woo-woo” or esoteric, and would turn some people off. Instead there were rave reviews at the end of the process and people were deeply touched with inner guidance from their Higher Selves.

I personally learned several things from this session. 1- Quality is much more important than quantity in who attends my tele-classes. 2- It was much more fun for me to be esoteric and metaphysical using my own alchemy than to try to speak “status quo” to the least evolved person in the audience. 3- By following my guidance wherever it led me I actually helped others more than I would have by sticking to my original process plans. 4- I like the “authentic” me better than the me standing behind the mask. 5- I think I’ll come out of the closet to be my whole SELF as I upgrade and rewrite my website in the near future. 6- It is time for me to step forward into my full power to apply my alchemy and to BE ME!!

EMOTIONAL FREEDOM for the Holidays!!

I am thankful for a very nice Thanksgiving with many friends, in a beautiful location, good food, the love of my wonderful partner, Martin, and a warm and cozy home to return to after eating a feast with others. My hope is that if you are reading this, you also had a wonderful day on Thursday, with all of its blessings.

There are many people who probably did not experience the joy that we did because they are being held captive by their emotions. This is just the beginning of the major Holiday Season celebrated here in the USA. There is so much focus on the commercialism, the events themselves, expectations of family gatherings, that often individuals completely lose themselves and also lose connection with the spiritual or inner significance of why the holidays exist in the first place.

I used to be in an emotional place where I reacted like a robot when the Holidays arrived. I felt and reacted to all of the stresses. I was tense, frustrated, impatient, sensitive, and not very much fun to be around – even in this festive time of year. When my life changed dramatically and I experienced the “dark night of the soul” I spent a very changing Holiday Season all alone. I had just separated from a marriage, a person I thought was the “love of my life”, I left my dream home, my community, my job and clients. Everything was different. I was in a new city, new rental house, all alone with no friends nearby, and the cable man had not even come to hook up my TV yet. I was forced into a silent Christmas of introspection.

During that Holiday Season I released all old traditions, all expectations, I got to know myself better and catered to what I wanted. I visited with friends via telephone, joining parties by calling in when they occurred elsewhere – with a drink (of my choice) in my hand, sitting in the comfort of my own home with my pets, eating (what I wanted and when I wanted). I had no Christmas tree that year – instead, I bought myself a pretty bouquet of flowers. I was just too “out of myself” to decorate or get into my Christmas decoration boxes – I had moving boxes still to unpack since I was starting a new job after the first of the year.

Since that time I have made it a point to keep the Holidays FUN and I feel at peace around this time of year now because I have gone through the steps to see the priorities and know how I can most enjoy them. Many people would like to find EMOTIONAL FREEDOM for the Holidays like I did, so I am offering a series of five weekly one-hour calls during December to provide self-coaching energy management techniques that work. We will apply wholistic modalities such as emotional freedom technique, among others. If you would like to know more about these calls please go to: http://is.gd/9cwa . You may also register there. In the meantime, I am glad you joined me here at Alchemist Anne!!

It’s a Rainy Day in Georgia!!

Awakening to rain this morning felt so good and relaxing. After several seasons of drought, each time it rains I can feel the earth and all its plants and critters giving a huge sigh of relief. We’ve only had about 5-6 rainy days since spring, so this is welcome! Outside it is cold, wet, rather dreary looking – and still feels good.

This is the second year in a row that our spring has dried up. When people depend on the springs for their drinking and house water supply, this gets very serious. Numerous springs and wells in our area went dry this summer… and we are hoping our spring comes back after this nice rain… like it did last fall.

There is a blessing in the drought – just like in the economic situation in the US right now. Both are extreme examples of something that has been mis-used, taken for granted, and wasted. Personal water management and conservation have been huge points of interest in our area in these two extreme drought years. People are finally consciously realizing how valuable this natural resource is, and most are making life-style and habit changes to save water. Local governments have set up water rationing systems and conservation classes have sprung up everywhere. It is understood now that water is in high demand, so many people are willing to make the personal changes so that they can do their part.

What would happen if such an awareness with guidelines, classes, support were created about our economy? Could a negative situation be turned into a learning experience where people could learn what to do to conserve money and still get what they want? Would this help turn the present picture around so that the US is again economically stable and individuals of all classes are able to live comfortable lives without money worries?  Just thinking…

Shifting My Perspective from Victimhood to Real Estate Sales

Years ago I found myself in a situation like so many are in today. I was at a major turning point in my life where I needed to sell a very big house. It was on the market for two full years and, as I had needed to move on with my life, it was empty, even though I still paid for mortgage, utilities, yard care. Thousands of dollars were flowing out of my pocketbook each month, and then 9-11 occurred.

During much of the time when I was waiting for the house to sell people would ask me how I was doing and I’d retell the sad and frustrating story of how I was a victim of an unethical buyer and greedy realtor, etc. etc. I was stuck in the story and rather than ridding myself of the bad energy involved, I was drowning in my own victimhood. People stopped asking because they were tired of hearing my story.

Finally I woke up and realized that I could create something different and that I did not need to be a victim. I ended a contract with my realtor and asked for advice from a real estate coach. Within one week I personally auctioned my 7200 square foot home and easily sold it for more than a realtor had told me I would get two years before… and this was the weekend before Thanksgiving – right after 9-11 when the market was so terrible.

The steps that I took included the following:

  1. I decided I was no longer going to be a victim of circumstances.
  2. Since my story was negative, full of victimhood, and perpetuated the negative cycle in my life, I let it go and stopped telling it.
  3. Even though the outward shift of circumstances had not yet happened, I talked as though my house were sold already, and I imagined the feelings of being free of the huge debt load and all the responsibility of managing an empty house out-of-state.
  4. I sought support of somebody with a different perspective: a real estate coach friend.
  5. I took immediate action and flipped my house in one week.

So, I know the power of shifting how we think so that we hold positive thoughts and feelings. This is just one example of so many that have occurred in my own life as well as in the lives of people I have coached. [And, as an extra benefit, the energy therapy and self-coaching tools that I learned then I used again in 2008 when I bought and easily sold an investment house – even in the “terrible” 2008 real estate slump.]

Sometimes we need a little nudge to wake up to our ability to shift our attitude. It can take the form of traumatic change, hardship, or conscious decision. If you would like to shift your spirits right now, take a few minutes to focus on what is going right in your life. Focus your attention on being grateful rather than dwelling on what is going wrong. You will feel the difference in your own energy, and if you do this daily you will soon start to see shifts in your life!

Where did I get the name Alchemist Anne??

The traditional definition of Alchemist is somebody who can change lead into gold. For many years I took wholistic techniques into Corporate America where I was dubbed the “Corporate Alchemist”. I helped leaders change the cultures of their organizations. I supported teams to be formed, re-formed, enhanced for efficiency and enjoyment of their members. I enjoyed bringing large groups together and facilitating them to create roadmaps for the future together in painless and fun settings. I took tarnished leaden ideas and helped guide their owners to make gold out of them. I ghost-wrote and edited rough manuscripts so that their golden messages would be better received. I’ve had fun seeing all of the results of the fun processes that I have shared with my thousands of clients all over the world.

So, when it came time to choose a blog name I thought it was also time for me to claim what I do and who I am. I am a change catalyst, and have been since I was a little girl. It used to be frustrating for me to see myself put effort into something and then see it bloom when I had left to go on to the next project. My youth symphony was invited to travel internationally just after I graduated. The economic development commission that I chaired decided to change county directors when I was involved. The chamber of commerce that I trained in total quality management and helped to form teams made so many positive changes that they moved to another bigger and better site. I’ve seen most of my coaching clients shift dramatically in their lives after and while we’ve worked together. And, I’ve seen my own life shift to become the life of my dreams as I turned my techniques inward.

I no longer feel afraid to admit that I use my intuition in my work, and that I can “read bodies” energetically to help in their healing process. I’ve learned so many 3D techniques over the years, and now I integrate these with special energetic tools such as Neuro Emotional Technique and Emotional Freedom Technique. I’m happy to allow others to do the old “nuts & bolts” training because I have more passion for utilizing my new tools. These holistic tools, techniques, modalities take me to a deep level with my coaching clients where I can help them to access their inner blockages or fears and quickly release these so that they no longer attract dysfunctional patterns and can meet their potential. I have passion for my new work and we all see results.

I guess the use of energetic tools, the old moniker, and the fact that I once saw some ancient alchemical drawings and they actually made sense to me all are reasons for the name I have chosen here:  Alchemist Anne.  I hope you enjoy my musings!!  ;-) )

The New World Order – of hope and unity and inspiration to grow.

As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.-Nelson Mandela

Since the election results were announced and Barack Obama became our nation’s new President-Elect I have read numerous articles and e-mails expressing a world-wide sense of hope for the future. In watching Mr. Obama’s acceptance speech it seemed to me that his approach will be in-clusive rather than ex-clusive. In other words, during his years in office I believe that he will be open to all kinds of ideas from all kinds of people and will strive to treat all as equals with respect rather than favor just a few to the exclusion of others.

It is time for a unifying force to lead our great nation, and Barack Obama may be able to do this better than anybody since our founding fathers (and mothers). Our new President-elect exudes a sense of inner power and self-confidence. He is a wonderful model to so many people who have felt like victims for so long. Just as the quote above from Nelson Mandela says, as President Obama lets his light shine he will model that so that others will feel the confidence needed to grow and shine their own lights. I’m excited that I will be here to watch and participate in this process!

A New Day is Dawning!!

Finally the election campaign is over and the votes have been cast. The people have spoken and we have a new president-elect of the United States. There are great opportunities for positive change, and although the changes may bring enjoyable results, there is still much fear of the unknown. We have all felt fear at one time or another in our lives – especially around CHANGE… even intentional change. Often when a change is planned there is the accompanying high of the adrenalin rush, of optimistic tension. Let us strive to hold that energetic rush in a positive way and utilize it in beneficial thoughts, words, actions. We can all flow with the energy ignited by this post election dawn. There is great hope in change, and this is what we should all hold onto.

There is a wonderful and inspiring article provided at the following link that you may enjoy reading. It is a letter to our new president-elect, with reminders that are good for all of us. Go to:  http://www.theroot.com/id/48726.
