Taking Conscious Responsibility for Our Feelings

“If you feel it, then it is in you.”

I first heard this phrase in the late 1980′s during a short intro seminar presented by Dr. Michael Ryce in Charlotte, North Carolina. When I heard this comment and the conversation around it I was forever healed of all sense of victimhood that I might have carried with me from my previous life. His easy forgiveness process helped me to start peeling off the onion of old hurts as I realized that everyone involved had merely done the best they could do, and if I was still feeling hurt, then it was up to me to clear that emotion and then move on with my life.

Dr. Ryce’s processes are potent, easy, teachable, and can be found in his 1997 book Why is This Happening To Me… Again?! I’ve run into Michael several times over the years. He is quite a scholar and earth steward. He commits his work to “The restoration of Total Love to every mind and relationship on the planet,” or more simply put, all of his tools and his book “support the healing of ourselves, each other, and the planet”.

To learn more about Dr. Michael Ryce, his retreat center Heartland, and to receive your own free electronic download of Dr. Ryce’s text you may go to: http://www.whyagain.com (available in six languages).

I know that in the late 1980′s early 1990′s Michael’s work helped my marriage dramatically and also helped me to heal some issues with my parents. I was using the forgiveness process – now dubbed the “No Fault Empowerment Tools” (found on pages 182-3) before I learned of Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). So, while I was able to realize and clear some of the issues that I discovered through Michael’s work – just through the understanding of the underlying cause for my feelings, I later utilized NET and EFT to make sure that all emotional residue was gone – forever!

Blog versus Ezine and/or Blog?

This is the sixth year that I have published my ezine, Conscious Living. http://consciouslivingezine.com  Where it used to be my main vehicle through which I connected regularly with my network and shared ideas, now I have my blog, which you are reading now.

From 1995-2000 I published a weekly newspaper business column, so an ezine sent twice per month seemed like a natural descendent from my earlier Business Basics columns about Spirit in Business.  More recently blogging has hit it big, and of course, I had to jump in and join the flow.

I have loved my blog from the beginning, and still do. As you probably already know (who am I – preaching to the choir?), I totally enjoy sharing all kinds of thoughts in this venue. It is like a journal with you guys all looking into my brain and learning more about what makes me tick. It delighted me when I first discovered that some people had actually signed up to receive my musings on a regular basis. Wow. Somebody was really interested in what I was thinking about? I was flattered, and still so much enjoy that you are out there… somewhere… hopefully enjoying what I write.

Over the years my Conscious Living ezine has changed shapes. It was originally directed toward business colleagues and friends. My intent was to share Spirit in Business ideas in a very conservative, traditional environment of the southeast US. As my thoughts and ideas have grown more alternative I’ve attracted many new subscribers as some of the original ones have started to fall away. I still feel a bit muted in the ezine venue, although I am coming out with my authentic voice more and more.

It is time for me to get more focused and simplify my life. I plan to continue to share my musings here in my blog Alchemist Anne, and also to share Energy Therapy and EFT case studies on a weekly basis… as I have time.  And, in my Conscious Living ezine I will go more deeply into the cases, share some recording links and practical exercise tips, and also include some other articles about Spirit in Business and Conscious Living in general. In this way all of you who may be subscribed in both places will get new or expanded information in each venue.

Well, I so appreciate you all for listening to me think out loud… or at least reading along this far, if you have. It always helps to get your group energy in our MasterMind so that I can better clarify! I hope today and this weekend are FUN for you!!

Networking for Success!

When I first opened my business in 1985 I lived in northern California. I was new to the area and in order to market my services I networked with others at almost daily face-to-face networking meetings. In Silicon Valley there were so many groups then that held breakfast, lunch, or dinner/evening meetings that I often had to toss a coin to determine where I would go to meet more people.

Obviously I chose meetings where I felt the audience would be interested in my services, however there were some meetings where I had to laugh at myself for having no idea what the speaker was discussing. I can truthfully say that each time I forced myself to attend a meeting full of strangers, I did benefit in some way or another, and my business was booming. Then I left town.

Since then I have relocated five more times, each time requiring me to start over with local clients. Each time I found networking meetings to attend so that I could meet people.

A few years ago I arrived in a destination where there are very few networking meetings, and not many people locally who are in my desired target market. My marketing focus now is at least 98% via internet, and the game is different.

Luckily there are numerous ways to network via internet. We are doing that right now. I’ve joined Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, among other sites, where I can connect with people.

Well, times have changed. There are still live networking meetings, and the human-to-human contact is a very important way to attract clients, however when my local community doesn’t provide the demographics of my target market, then I can take that same time that I would normally spend at a live networking meeting and spend it connecting with people on a personal basis on-line. It is still a good use of time and I’m getting to know people on all of the social networking sites just by sharing information and striking up conversations. It is fun even though it is remote rather than live. I’m feeling supported by my new on-line community, and that feels just as good as it used to feel when I depended on my live community to support me.

So, look at the opportunities we now have to connect with others, and I invite you to utilize the local as well as internet opportunities whenever possible. It will keep you in the swing of your game – whatever it is!

Shifting My Skills Paradigm

“When a paradigm shifts, everything goes back to zero.” I still love this quote from Joel Barker, futurist during the 90′s, who helped to guide business leaders into the twenty-first century. Even he didn’t suspect how many changes and paradigm shifts would occur – and so frequently as we reached and passed the millennium change point.

I started my company in 1985 after several years in top management prior to that. For fifteen years I enjoyed using the skills of speaking, training, consulting. I served as a rather yang “preacher, teacher, answer person”. People paid me to give them the answers, and that is what I did. I was very good at that and many thousands of individuals and hundreds of corporations benefited from what I shared.

Then I took a sabbatical to re-discover my passion. I was burned out after so many years of running my own business plus helping so many others to run theirs. After several years of working part-time and doing lots of inner soul-searching about what I wanted to be when I grew up, I realized that I could easily adapt my old skills and shift my own paradigm to one that I enjoyed more at this point in my career.

By the time I re-invented myself I had already been coaching  for many years and that was beginning to be a popular profession. I had also been using and facilitating energy healing modalities for a number of years and felt a lot of passion about utilizing these tools with others as a business.

In re-creating my business I realized that my old skill set had taken so much energy on my part because it didn’t come naturally for me. As an introvert and very introspective person I had to put lots of energy into supporting my own comfort level whenever I stood in front of large audiences as a plenary speaker or was hired to tell top executives how to run their corporations. I did a good job, but it was stressful and ended up burning me out.

This new skill set, on the other hand, feels much more natural to me. It takes much less of my energy to coach and support people with healing modalities like EFT, NET, Reiki, Healing Touch, applied kinesiology, among others. I am intuitive and can rely on my inner voice to guide me as I am working with a client. With my toolbox of various modalities I can easily support my clients with whatever they need when they present to me. This feels so much more natural for me. It is coming through me in the moment rather than being planned and created beforehand.

So, my new skills paradigm has taken me to places where I can do my coaching and healing work as I also focus on writing. These can all be performed from the comfortable energy of my home office sitting on top of a beautiful mountain with views all around. Yes, I do still get out and network – occasionally. However, I find solace in my alone time or the intimate time I spend with a client by phone where we are both in our comfortable settings connecting energetically. Yes, the paradigm has shifted. And now, Anne is happier, healthier, more “in tune”, and supporting herself first, and others because she can!

Neuro Emotional Technique is a Potent Healing Modality

My ex-husband introduced me to Neuro Emotional Technique (NET). As a chiropractor he utilized applied kinesiology and felt that NET would support his practice. We studied together for seven years and it ended it up that I practice it more than he does. It makes so much sense to me, and it led me to find and better understand EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

Dr. Scott Walker, DC, developed NET during the same year that Gary Craig developed EFT. Both had studied other modalities and went on to create techniques that would benefit the masses.

NET at first was just offered to doctors: MD’s, DC’s, DO’s, DDS’s, PhD’s, and now that has been extended to licensed health and wellness practitioners. The technique is based on the philosophy that anyone presenting to a health or wellness practitioner with physical pain or dis-ease is being affected by one of three things:

  1. a structural imbalance or intrusion into the system (often resulting from an accident causing a break, sprain, strain, cut, abrasion)
  2. a chemical imbalance (hormones, enzymes, blood chemistry, toxins, allergens, bad food combining, pesticides, etc.)
  3. an emotional component (stored emotional charge or chemistry found somewhere within the electromagnetics, organs, viscera, brain).

Based on that philosophy an NET practitioner asks the patient’s body specific questions, and using kinesiological muscle testing, the body answers. This is much like inputting data and getting data in return via a computer. The body and its electro-magnetic field do not lie. It is amazing what one can find out about another person by just asking the right questions and then letting the body answer. The patients are often reminded of people and experiences from their early lives that they have not thought of in many years, and it is their body who comes up with the data to help them focus on where the old emotion first showed up. Then, a specific protocol is handled for each occasion based on what the emotion is and where it is being stored.

I enjoy facilitating NET with my clients when I work on them in person. I’ve seen some amazing results with this very potent modality. Even though I am not a physician I have been able to successfully treat a variety of physical, emotional, and psychological issues that had not been improved using more traditional approaches. And, when I use EFT I blend a little of my NET background into my understanding of why EFT works and how to support its effectiveness.

I truly believe that NOBODY needs to suffer!

If ever I had a niche, this is it! I really, really believe that nobody needs to suffer, and it took my own experience to figure that out for myself. During my life I have experienced chronic physical pain as well as deep emotional and psychological pain. I am one of those very sensitive people who, as a child took in every emotion that was in my environment. This continued into my adulthood until I found myself in bed with chronic fatigue and terribly painful fibromyalgia for a year. Up to then I had felt like a victim to my body, my parents, my society, my husband, my customers, my life situation. You can imagine how horrible that felt! Aaarrrggghhh!!

The day I resolved to either leave the planet or get well so that I could do what I was here for, was one of the most important days of my life. I had passionate resolve to get well and to stop being a victim! That was the first time that I had really been aware of how pathetic I was when I was in “victim mode”, and how a change of attitude could, indeed, change my life.

Within two days – literally – I had all of the information I needed to create the cure, which I did. In two months time I was a new person – energized, alert, pain-free, twenty pounds lighter, and ready to move forward in my life. It was after that that I resolved to support others to let go of their pain.

Years later I divorced my best friend and went through some other major life transitions that put me back into a dark hole of despair. I knew it was up to me to save myself. I was NOT in victim mode, but rather in survival mode with the intention of learning how to re-create my life. I utilized many inner modalities and energetic tools that I had learned over the years, and that is when I became an expert at EFT – using it on myself and others around me as I came back out to re-create a life where I now thrive and enjoy happiness all around me.

I cannot say that it has been an easy path. For many healers the path is one of experience so that we may share and teach. I will say that it has been a path that has taken me well beyond victimhood and beyond feeling a need or attraction to suffering in ANY way. I am resolved. NOBODY needs to suffer!

Conscious Alignment

For many years I have worked in Corporate America using and developing innovative tools to support Spirit in Business. Conscious Alignment is definitely something that benefits everyone within a business – at all levels.

Conscious Alignment is a part of the Aligned Management Program that I have developed for conscious businesses, and you may read an article about this at: http://www.arielagroup.com/spirit_in_business/articles/conscious_alignment.html  to learn some basics.

This Conscious Alignment model is wonderful in its ability to support individuals in their own conscious transformation as well as their teams, departments, divisions, and the entire organization. It is appropriate for organizations and their leaders who truly wish for conscious transformation and the creation of resonance within their organizations. There are a variety of “training” or “organizational & team development” tools that I incorporate into this process, and I support these with energetic tools such as Emotional Freedom Technique/ EFT. I find that this simple-to-use tool greatly supports individuals to clear all resistance and blocks to teammates, their environment, projects, tasks, direction from superiors, just among many other business issues.

For this concept to work the bottom line is that the leaders must really want to change so that the entire organization comes into alignment and all involved share a co-creative resonant field. These leaders must be strong, committed, ready & willing to change, able to allow those not aligned to leave the organization (including some vendors & customers at times). If they truly want conscious alignment, then they will be rewarded beyond what can be imagined, however there must be a strong commitment.
