Winter Solstice Thoughts…
Today is the Winter Solstice – the shortest daylight of the year here in the northern hemisphere, and tonight will be the longest night of the year on our half of the planet. This is a wonderful time of year to go within – into the darkness – and determine what the next year will bring with its light.

Quiet time to go within...
Years ago I contacted a friend on Winter Solstice just to say Hi. He and I ended up starting a romantic relationship that was a wonderful learning opportunity for me during that next year. I often host or attend parties on Winter Solstice where we write down the things we would like to clear from the old year, and the desires and intentions we are setting for the new year. A burning ceremony sometimes sends these written thoughts into the ethers as ash and fire.
This year, after much concentration, I have just completed a new website, the creation of several new training programs for 2010, as well as a new affiliate program. These took much introspection, time, teamwork, and patience. I think that today is the perfect day to send out this new energy into the cycles and networks where the right people will receive the information. I didn’t really plan it to be this way, but it really seems perfect now that the busy-work is finally finished! (If you are interested in information about this, you can look for it in tomorrow’s blog… today is about the wonderful opportunity of the Solstice!)
Tonight I think I will share a quiet dinner with Martin and talk about this last year, what we have accomplished, what we have learned, what we have had to postpone, what we want to clear to make room for new intentions. We will also talk about our dreams for the next year and will set some desires into the energy of life. The details will come later, but this will be a good time to share our individual and combined dreams as the light begins to come back to our half of the planet starting tomorrow.
Have a Happy and Conscious Solstice – wherever you are!
Change: Endings and New Beginnings…
On this date, December 17, a number of years ago, I left my old life and ventured into the unknown. It was very difficult for me. I was being urged by my soul, and still the fear was almost unbearable. I was unhappy and alone for months after that important move, and gradually I re-created my life to eventually lead me to the now that I am living much more authentically and happily than before.
Today is the perfect day to launch a new phase in my new life, and that is what I will share with you below, but it is also a celebration of the ending of life for a friend who died last weekend. Jack was always authentic to me. He told me what made him happy, what made him mad. He shared his thoughts and his passions. He didn’t just talk about what made him smile – he lived his life fully, and died being his full active self… he was only 56. We will miss him and I’ll take my flute to his memorial because he so loved when we played music at night around the campfire.
Whenever there is change something is let go of as something new is chosen. This crossroads of leaving the comfort of the past and moving into the unknown of the future is often unnerving. Sometimes it takes us humans a bit of time to shift gears, but we are resilient critters and we soon are able to look at the benefits of the decisions we have made for ourselves.
It is my opinion that the scariest kind of change is the change that is un-planned and sudden. Like the sudden death of a loved one. If we can consciously change, then the unknown holds less fear for us.
On that note I’d like to share that it is time to launch some changes in the programs that I am offering to you. I have let go of the slower-paced series and replaced them with shorter more intensive programs for targeted audiences who want advanced-level deep shifts to happen in their lives and practices.
• Advanced Living and Loving: is a three-month program that speaks to a wide audience of those who wish to REALLY transform their lives for the better using wholistic energy therapy tools including EFT. It is starting in January 2010 and enrollment is determined via interview/coaching session. The techniques covered in this program will go way beyond traditional EFT and MTT tools, and will guide you to identify and balance your deepest values, clear self-sabotaging patterns, vision and create that life you most desire.
• Going Deeper with Your Clients: is a highly specialized three-month program just for coaches, therapists, and wellness practitioners of all kinds. It is starting in early February, 2010, and enrollment is done via interview. This program offers support and new tools so that every coach, therapist, wellness practitioner will be able to go deeper with their clients to clear blockages, pain, emotional discomfort. I will provide the “secret tools” for participants to excel beyond past levels in their practices.
Today I am also launching an affiliate program for The Ariela Group of Wholistic Services, where my friends, colleagues, readers like you, can benefit from helping me to share information about these new programs. The affiliate link can be found at the bottom of each web page.
Some people may believe that after almost thirty years of training, coaching, working with clients, that all of this would be second nature to me. But change of any kind takes some getting used to. In preparing the high calibre programs that I am sharing above I have walked through the layers of my own fears, and now am ready to share strategies that absolutely will support conscious change… I know, because I had to test them on myself first. And, this all started on December 17th so many years ago.
Conscious Balance in Business with Spirit!
When I focus on transformation and conscious living I can look back at my own career. When I was in my 20’s with a fresh new MS degree, working toward my Ph.D., I was hired by a consortium of twenty-four corporations and colleges/universities to create an international training institute where I reported to the CEO’s and college presidents and stayed within a set budget. That was a major undertaking for a young person like me.
Under pressure to create everything from scratch, I wore many different hats, and I didn’t wear them all very well or with conscious balance. At that time I built my “empire” where I hired and managed seventeen employees, most older than I, and I created all of the systems for the institute: marketing & PR, curriculum, faculty & staff, student affairs, etc. Recruiting was also my job, and the institute depended on my abilities to communicate to international embassies and agencies and create trust so that they would send their vulnerable students to me to train, nurture, and protect.
Some of the tasks set before me created great stress in my life, and others were more fun. I worked hard and managed with a strong hand. I yearned for more inner peace and balance, and I earned lots of money. I enjoyed my personal relations with some of the students and staff, however there was often a separation in me between my head and heart. I have learned through the years to re-connect these parts of myself so that I can live and work more consciously and take more Spirit into business.
Today I enjoy my peaceful life and I have great passion for supporting my coaching and energy therapy clients with open heart energy and a myriad of tools that I share. At the same time I am happy to hire the younger people who have more fire and passion for marketing to help me in this area. My intention is to create an even balance that will support a conscious business with Spirit, and show the greatest results.
On this note, I am currently looking for a savvy experienced VA team of like-minded “whiz kids”, who will put fire into my business marketing so that I can get the word out about my wonderful coaching and energy therapy services. This will allow me to put all of my energy into my work with clients – where I am now most comfortable and most consciously in balance in my life! If you know of a good candidate VA firm, please feel free to send me the referral. I know exactly what I want and am looking forward to taking my conscious business to its next level with the help of the “right” team around me! Doing Business as UN-usual…
What happened to the days of strong personal connections, friendly support, genuine customer service, quality, dependable follow-through, loyalty in customers and vendors? Have outside economic pressures caused greed and fear to take over, or have the symptoms above created the current economic situation?
I am lucky… or, you can say that I “created” a comfortable life and business situation for myself. I live in a gorgeous area of the planet, in the forest close to several small towns but within two hours of four major metropolitan areas. I have peace and beauty all around me that I can share with my clients and vendors. When I do my local errands I rarely encounter traffic, road rage, or the negative emotions and stress found elsewhere. I intended this in my life, and here I am living it now! Peace of mind and comfort is so important to me now!
What bothers me at this point are some of the wonderful people I am watching who are changing in ways that are placing stress on our working relationship and their relationships with others. There are many creative and talented people offering important products and services to others. As we all evolve and improve our products and services are we keeping the human-to-human aspect in sight? Or, are we focused on the time, money, final business results, and packing as many clients into a short time period as possible?
There seems to be so much pressure to succeed monetarily, grow marketing lists, and compete, that some providers are literally dropping their loyal customers or vendors and opting for the “bigger fish” who can bring them more revenue in a shorter period of time, for less work. I’m all for “working smarter – not harder”, and, at the same time I also endorse balance and the concept of living consciously.
Many of the systems being touted in our banking industry and on internet are “artificial”. Money on paper is not the same as money in one’s pocket. “Friends” and “followers” on social networking sites may not be there for you when you really need a caring human nearby. Numbers on a marketing list are not equal to loyal customers. E-mail marketing blasts do not include the same energy as intentional human-to-human marketing connections. Things have changed, and sometimes I’m not so sure they have changed for the better!
Creating from Within
Energy management is so important to each of us as we go about creating the life of our desires and flowing with the Law of Attraction. I was recently reminded again of the old tale that follows. The message says it all!
One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that was going on inside himself.
He said, “My boy, the fight is between two wolves.”
That got the boy’s attention.
“One is evil,” the old man continued. “Full of anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, and ego.”
“What of the other wolf, grandfather?” the boy asked.
“The other is good,” he said. “Full of joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth and compassion.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Do we all have such wolves fighting inside us, grandfather?”
“Yes,” the wise old man said.
“Does one of the wolves win the fight?”
“Yes,” replied his grandfather.
“Which one?”
The old Cherokee replied simply, “The one you feed.”
Skills for Conscious Success in the 21st Century
“Among those skills considered by many to be most essential for success in the twenty-first century are greater cognitive flexibility, comfort with unfamiliarity, appreciation for diverse perspectives, agility in the face of rapidly changing circumstances, an ability to hold multiple points of view simultaneously, and a capacity for discernment that relies equally on intellect and intuition.”
Wow – that sentence says so much! I tend to agree with each aspect that Liz Miller points out. It seems that the most flexible, changeable, open-minded, conscious, and discerning people are those who are riding the wave of new development, prosperity, new thought. And, it also seems that these are the individuals who are feeling most comfortable and at peace in today’s hectic world.
The above quoted statement was taken from an article by Liz Miller (program coordinator for the Worldview Literacy Project) featured in The Noetic Post – A Bulletin from the Institute of Noetic Sciences, Fall/Winter 2009-10, Vol.1:#1, pg.4.

Touch for Health
Surprise! Yes, I changed my blog format a bit so that you can see the beautiful view from my cabin/office that is so inspiring to me as I write. The sunset in the banner photo was taken at the summer solstice – at the height of light in the northern hemisphere! I hope you enjoy it!
Touch for Health is a wonderful approach to healing that is taught to lay people / non-physicians, so that they will be able to take more responsibility in their own health. If you have ever been to a chiropractor or kinesthesiologist you might have had the same muscle groups and meridians tested for strength or weakness as you can learn through studying Touch for Health.
I was first introduced to TFH in 1985 or 1986 when my ex-husband and I took a course from one of the earlier TFH “gurus” Dr. Sheldon Deal. Sheldon has become a friend through the years and, besides being an award-winning body builder in his youth, is a world-known doctor of chiropractic and a naturopathic doctor. He is still active in the international TFH organization and the International College of Applied Kinesiology.
As soon as I was introduced to the teachings of TFH I was hooked, and I’ve been studying energy healing and therapy techniques ever since. But, I went about my studies in other ways. I learned about applied kinesiology through my ex-husband, a chiropractor. I learned about meridians and specific emotional clearing techniques by studying Neuro Emotional Technique, NET, for seven years with Drs. Scott and Deb Walker, and by becoming a practitioner. Then I learned more by studying EFT through Gary Craig. Now I have come full circle and am taking the Touch for Health four-part certification training with Earl Cook, creator of e-touch for Health, and practitioner since 1976 (http://www.etouchforhealth.com/ .) I will complete the certification in March, 2010.
As though I didn’t have enough to do these days, I have dedicated entire weekends in November, December, February, and March to learn more about how to use the muscles in the body to test for strengths or weaknesses that can cause pain and eventually disease. I’m learning more about the meridians and the muscles and organs with which they correspond, in addition to learning more about the basics of the five-element acupuncture model and meridian cycles so that I can better incorporate this information as background into my NET and EFT practices with clients. I am excited about TFH’s ability to clear physical pain and energetically support goal-setting, and I plan to apply it with clients as soon as I finish the full certification training program in March, 2010.
So, stay tuned. I will share more as I learn it!

Reiki for Emotional Healing During the Holidays
You usually see me talking about using EFT or other Meridian Tapping Techniques for emotional healing. Since I am a Reiki Master in addition to the other things that I do, I want to include a few excerpts here from a good article by Laurelle Shanti Gaia (see her Reiki newsletter and the entire article at: http://www.reikinewsletter.com/.)
“It doesn’t matter which holidays you observe, or even if you don’t observe the holidays at all. This season can stir your deepest emotions. Thoughts, feelings and beliefs that you have long since buried often rise to the surface of your consciousness during holiday times. The good news is opportunities for profound and meaningful healing arise as well.
Do you find this time to be jolly, OR is it a time that you feel fear, loneliness, sadness, anger, abandonment, or whatever emotion is most important for you to become aware of at this time of year? Be true to your feelings, as this is a time that brings forth great potential for transformation and rebirth.
There is an ancient Shinto saying about the winter time ‘Both Heaven and Earth come from one’s own heart’. It is a time for darkness to open to the light, a time to really FEEL that which you have held in the shadows, tried to avoid, or been afraid to confront. It is a time to bring these feelings forth, acknowledge them, accept them, honor them, learn from them and move forward into the light of your true self. It is only possible to BE one’s true self by BEing true to yourself. Once you have done this, you can fully experience the joy, peace, love, compassion, good will and comfort that the holiday season is meant to bring you.
If your holidays include gathering with friends and family you may find yourself more sensitive than normal as cellular emotional memories begin to stir. I believe that the holiday time arouses whatever you most need to heal within the deepest level of your being. This is a perfect time to work with Reiki to awaken repressed emotions, honor them and transform them into positive energy.
Many of us were trained to hold our feelings in. ‘Nice girls don’t get angry,’… ‘big boys don’t cry,’… there were so many ways we learned to block our emotions. If you weren’t taught by your parents to do this, perhaps a teacher, or a friend influenced your tendency to repress your feelings.
Over the years of being disloyal to emotions, we each develop congestion in our emotional body that limits the flow of life force into our physical body. Consequently we can develop physical, mental or emotional illness.”
So, if you use Reiki on yourself, or if you regularly visit a practitioner, use the thoughts here as a good focus point as you approach a Reiki energy session, and set the intention to neutralize the negative charge around old holiday emotions and memories, and to allow peace to enter and fill up your energy field.
If you have specific questions about how to best do this, please feel free to ask me or leave a comment here. Also, of course, the thoughts expressed here so well by Laurelle can bring up specifics that you may clear using other energy tools such as EFT and NET, among other MTT tools.
I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! Mine was so fantastic that we had three different Thanksgiving dinners during the long weekend… with different family members each time as we traveled! And, our visits were fun and travel was safe! Wow – I am grateful that my energy work has sure paid off well!!
