EFT Coaching Case – Extra Added Benefits
There are often cases when using Energy Therapies, where a person is focusing on one issue and then other added benefits show up later. You just don’t know how the issues and emotional aspects are layered in your energy system. So even though you may not consciously think you have an issue in one area, you might find out later that by tapping on that issue anyway, say in a group EFT TAPshop setting around a general shared topic, you might benefit in very dramatic ways.
I’ve heard other practitioners tell their clients to be sure to tap along at any opportunity, because one never knows what will get dissolved in doing so. In our weekly EFT TAPshops I usually choose a rather universal and pertinent issue, and even though some of the participants might not think at first that they have any charge on that issue, in tapping along with the others they always have an energetic breakthrough of some kind.
Also, I’ve notice that when you tap on an issue, that often frees up an energy circuit that is attached to other aspects of life, and might clear other emotional issues as it is being dissolved. Here are some examples:
- Some regular practitioners of EFT report that the more they use EFT on various issues the better they feel physically. And, some even report improved eye-sight without ever tapping on their sight in particular.
- In one case a person focused on releasing some on-stage performance anxiety and the result was that her writer’s block also cleared in another area of her life.
- Often people focusing on de-cluttering their lives also encounter weight loss as a result. When they clear the extra layers of heavy energy in their environment they can then shed the extra layers of heavy physical matter around their waist-lines.
- People that use EFT and other tools like that on a daily basis report a general improved sense of well-being, more insightful flashes of inspiration, better general physical health, and they often start seeing synchronicities happening around them that support their life to improve in various ways.
I like to use the analogy of the onion and peeling away layers when I talk about applying EFT and other Energy Therapies. You don’t always know what issues the outer layer will include, but when that outer layer is up to be peeled away, then with it will go all of the issues and emotional blockages included in that layer. Whatever clearing you do will benefit you in various and surprising ways… and then will introduce you to the next layer to work on!

Coaching and Energy Work
Over twenty years ago I was not yet involved with energy therapies in the way that I am now, however I had been introduced to energy healing, color therapy, aura-reading, energy management, and other rather esoteric practices. I was facilitating a train-the-trainer corporate training series for a group of technicians at a large Westinghouse turbine plant in Charlotte, NC. Discussion following one class shifted suddenly to talk about psychic phenomenon, extra sensory perception, and ghosts. As one of the soon-to-be trainers (a former welder) opened up and gave his personal account of an experience, soon all of the others were chiming in and sharing their own adventures with the paranormal. Since that time I have witnessed this type of sharing of un-natural occurrences take place many times. And since then I have learned a great deal about how to interpret and work with some of these occurrences.
On July 2nd I will be the monthly guest speaker for the Group Coaching Special Interest Group. My topic will be The Benefits of Group Coaching Using Energy Therapies. During that talk I probably won’t go into too much detail because of time constraints, so I decided to share one issue here, for all of you who are open to the more esoteric and mysterious aspects of life.
Most people have heard of or have seen the original Exorcist movie. The spinning head and green foam are a bit Hollywood-ish, but the concept of exorcizing entities that do not belong somewhere has been around for many centuries, in many cultures. Usually the entities are just confused and need to be given compassionate direction. These are the kind I work with the most.
On Halloween we all laugh about ghosts and children dress up in sheets, but how many of you have ever seen a ghost or communicated with an out-of-body entity? I have, and it began many years ago, but that is another story.
Over the years I have had many people approach me for help dealing with unexplained phenomenon. I don’t know how the word has gotten out, but I have worked successfully with a number of cases. I find this kind of work to be very interesting, and I trust my own training and guidance to do what is in the highest good for all concerned, or to refer the people elsewhere.
- Most people carry energetic “cords” with them that are connected to parents, children, other family members, past and present lovers, among others. There are easy ways to disconnect the cords that are no longer beneficial to someone. Whenever I work with a client using Reiki and Healing Touch I disconnect unbeneficial cords.
- Sometimes there are entities that hang around after death and visit loved ones. This happened to me when a dear older cousin died and stayed around me for two years. She and I could openly communicate whenever I wanted, and it was quite a blessing to me at the time. One day she came to me and said it was time for her to leave, and she did. At that point I felt her loss and missed her. Periodically she still visits me in the dream state and we have wonderful “catch up” sessions.
- In some cases entities actually enter the bodies of live people. In the case of trance channels this is often done with the host’s permission for limited time periods in a supervised setting. In other cases entities might be lost and just attach themselves to another person. I helped to remove the entity of a young child from one of my clients and in so doing ended a series of regular panic attacks that had been going on for six years whenever the client wanted to leave her home. Many other physicians and therapists had been baffled by her condition, and one session took care of the problem.
All of this sounds very strange – and it is. When I find things – energy, energetics, entities, whatever – that do not belong in somebody’s energy field, I simply remove or disconnect the energies. If I can’t do it myself I call in “helpers” and that usually works. My clients may or may not be open to hearing about what I am doing, and I normally talk to them in terms that they can understand and feel comfortable with. I have been invited into hospitals and homes to do energy clearing with patients and locations. It is just one of the applications of my energy therapy work.
When a client presents to me with an esoteric problem I use many traditional coaching skills, and then I pull out my extra bag of tricks to deal with the aspects that may not be apparent to most people. I feel blessed with a special gift and I’m glad I can use it to help others.
EFT Coaching Case – PTSD and the Dark Night of the Soul
At a time in the past I suffered some deep emotional trauma that left me in a deep dark pit of emotional turmoil. I felt so fragile that for weeks I could not leave my house without bursting into tears. I couldn’t listen to the radio or watch TV. Everywhere I looked there were reminders of what I had lost and this fueled the fire of my trauma. I felt so brittle that the least little word, tone, look, comment could send me into a downward spiral of agony. I was in the “Dark Night of the Soul” and had to make the decision whether to survive or not. I decided to do my inner work and re-create my life. And, it took years before I was truly happy again, living a new life of my making.
Some people are diagnosed with PTSD, (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), a nervous breakdown, panic attacks, and other terms for symptoms of a “dark night of the soul” experience. These are all equally painful for the victim, and often take many years to over-come. There are many therapies focused on serving patients of these disorders, and Energy Psychology/ Therapy including EFT is one category of helpful modalities.
I was already a practitioner of Neuro Emotional Technique when I suffered my own trauma, and the downside is that I wasn’t able to apply this wonderful tool to myself. So, I searched for another energy clearing technique that would enable me to work on myself. A friend introduced me to Emotional Freedom Technique, and immediately I went to work making myself feel better.
It didn’t take long to feel the shifts starting to take place. I focused upon issue after issue, and literally took a Sabbatical from my work and from my busy life to do full-time inner work. When I started using EFT the shifts started happening faster, and I noticed that my dull, dark, low frequency emotions started to release me to rise to a higher vibration and remember what it felt like to enjoy life again. I am so thankful to Gary Craig and others who have put the research and the years of experience behind perfecting energy therapy techniques such as EFT and N.E.T. so that they can be easily applied and make a difference immediately, quickly, and painlessly.
Yes, I am a staunch advocate of the energy therapies. Why? Well, it surely is not because I was brought up to accept non-traditional modalities! My family members don’t even believe in chiropractic, let alone some of the perceived ”woo-woo” energy techniques that I utilize with my clients now. And, would I ever go back to the more conservative approaches endorsed by the AMA? Absolutely not! I have seen the benefits of doing energy work with myself and with people around me, and I am not about to waste my gifts of being able to utilize energy in helping others!

EFT Coaching Case – Working with PTSD
Victims of trauma are very sensitive, fragile, and fearful of getting too close to remembering the pain of their trauma. When the perceived choices are avoidance or death by emotional upheaval, most trauma victims choose avoidance.
Even though these people wish to release the emotional trauma and charge that they are suffering, they are usually so afraid of having to re-live the pain, that they totally stay away from the issue. Logically they realize that it must be dealt with in some way, but emotionally they stay away. And, their own inner protection mechanism, their right brain, will over-ride any rational left-brain reasoning whenever they tread close to the traumatic event.
When Gary Craig and others like him approach a trauma victim or one suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the emotional comfort of the client is of primary importance. Since with Energy Therapy modalities there is no need to really talk about all of the details of the experience, nor is there a requirement to re-live the trauma, there are many “safe” ways to apply EFT and other tapping techniques to relieve the emotional charge from the original episode so that eventually the memory of the event will hold no more disrupting emotional charge for the client. Nightmares, emotional outbursts, insomnia, and other symptoms of PTSD will go away as this emotional charge is diminished and neutralized.
If this topic interests you, then you may wish to visit Gary Craig’s website at http://www.emofree.com to see his free videos where he works with war veterans suffering from PTSD.
Just today I urged the wife of a Vietnam veteran to visit the site, and then to share it with her husband. For twenty years he has only talked with his VA psychiatrists periodically about some of the traumatic events he witnessed. It is my hope that he will see the video, learn a little about the EFT process and how it can help without being painful, and then let me help him get beyond the pain that he has been suffering since he came home from the Vietnam war. There are so many people out there like him, and will be so many more as veterans return from the Middle East.
EFT Coaching Case – Issues about Tardiness
Awhile back I had a client who needed some energy therapy around her issues of often being late. What seemed like a simple case of habit soon showed itself to be much deeper, and this brought up many related issues.
Using EFT and other coaching and questioning tools guided this client to first identify that she felt anger whenever she was asked to commit to a time set by another or involving somebody else. She admitted to falling into the “passive agressive” definition, where she would commit, but then set about subconsciously to sabotage the appointment. Of course she realized that this only reflected badly upon herself, but this was being orchestrated by her subconscious, so all she could do sometimes was to observe this pattern happening over and over.
There were many childhood issues that then came up to remind her of why this lateness pattern with anger was so much a part of her life. We decided to apply EFT to the anger first. Then we worked with her self-loathing that related to her habitual tardiness. Next we focused on other areas where she also projected negative emotions toward herself and cleared the negativity, replacing that with positive affirmations focusing on her strengths and positive characteristics. We covered many “aspects” of this time issue during one coaching session.
As the coaching session concluded this client’s mood had shifted considerably from the depressed and angry person who entered my coaching space, to a light-hearted person making humorous remarks about how little her issue really was, and how she knew she could overcome this because she had overcome so many more difficult issues in her life, and now she had EFT as her ally. It was fun for me to feel the dramatic shift in her emotional tone and to see her totally shift her perspective about this issue and how she could change it.
We both agreed that there might be some more aspects of this issue, since it was so deep-seated, and in the session for that day we felt that we had shifted a considerable amount of energy using EFT. I am constantly reminded of how lucky, as a coach, I am to have wonderful tools such as emotional freedom technique!
