Letting Go of the OLD story!!

Years ago I felt very attached to several old stories in my life. The more I focused on these old memories of people, relationships, past events, situations that didn’t seem to want to change,  other melancholy and nostalgic kinds of thinking patterns, the more frustrated I became that I found myself living in Limbo.

Well, duh!! By focusing so much attention on the old stories I was attracting more of the same. And, even though I consciously wanted my life to change, by focusing on the old stories I was actually attracting more of the same of that, and I wondered why I was frustrated! Aaargh!!

Finally I realized the losing cycle in which I was struggling. I started focusing on the end results and practicing conscious living. I wrote about the results of where I was going; I meditated on these successes; I used EFT to clear my doubts about ever really getting to where I wanted to be. And, today I am there!! (And I continue to get better and better as I use the tools!)

I just wish I had awakened sooner so that I didn’t have to stay so long in Limbo – it is such a difficult place to be in!!  I can look back and feel remorse for wasting several years, but instead I’m just living many lives at once in this wonderful new scenario that I have created, and I know that there is no “going back” that will benefit me – or anyone else!!

If you are stuck in Limbo, attached to your old story and wanting to move forward, let’s talk! In the meantime, identify what you are focusing your attention on and discern whether it is benefitting your forward movement or if it is holding you back!

EFT for Coaches Intro call today

This afternoon I facilitated a special EFT for Coaches Introduction call that was attended by a good group of coach colleagues. On the call we discussed some of the issues around coaching, running a successful six or seven-figure coaching practice, marketing our businesses, among other issues that often come up for savvy coaches.

I introduced the coaches to the benefits of using Emotional Freedom Technique for themselves – to help them break through fears, doubts, frustrations, inner subconscious blockages. I also shared some of the benefits that they would provide to their clients if they offered that as a tool within their coaching practices.

I introduced the EFT protocol and facilitated a round of EFT focusing on a shared coaching issue. This specialized EFT “TAPshop” was fun for me and I know that those coaches on the call who follow through and learn more in order to utilize this new tool will see their lives shift in dramatic ways. I look forward to more feedback about the session from my colleagues.

This call was a gift to my friends, and it was also one of several Introduction calls as I get ready to launch a special new “Coach the Coach - to Use EFT” training program on June 11. I have offered one-on-one and group Coach-the-Coach training programs in the past, and this one will be even more potent because it will be all about how to incorporate Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) as a potent coaching tool within the framework of a coaching curriculum and protocol. Each participant will benefit from seven hours per month of live call contact with me (or via recordings if they miss the live calls). All participants will receive a complete Coach’s Curriculum Manual which will focus on the appropriate application of EFT within the coaching program. All participants will connect via a private yahoo groups forum, and will have direct and regular e-mail access to me.

So, if you or anybody you know would be interested in knowing more about the up-coming “Coach the Coach - to Use EFT” training program that begins on June 11, or if you would like to be personally invited to attend the next Introduction call, please contact me by going to: http://www.arielagroup.com/contact and tell me what you would like to receive, or ask me a question there. The Eighteenth Camel – An Ancient Arab Parable

This article used to appear on my old website. It was placed there by a friend, past student in my MBA class at University of South Carolina, and first web designer, Ekaterina Solovieva. She now resides back in her home country of Russia where she continues to consult and work in marketing and brand management.

Once upon a time there was a Bedouin who had three sons. He worked all of his life, but the only richness he accumulated to leave for his sons was a herd of 17 camels. His day came and he called his sons saying: “My sons, I’m about to die. Please, look after each other and live in peace. I leave my herd of 17 camels, which I want you to divide in the following way. You, my eldest son, take one half of the herd. You, my middle son, take one third of the herd. And you, my little one, since you are very young, take one ninth part of the herd.” With these words the old man died.

The sons buried their father and began to divide the heritage. At this point they realized that the 17 camels could not be divided integrally either into 2, into 3, or into 9 parts. So, they began arguing. This arguing led to no compromise and soon there arose open fighting amongst them.

At this time another Bedouin with a camel happened to come across this place. Seeing these young men fighting, he asked them what was happening and why they were fighting. They told him their story. And the Bedouin said: “Please, do not kill each other for the camels, rather, take my camel!”

The young men took the Bedouin’s camel and the herd became 18 camels. Now it could be divided integrally into 2, 3, and 9 parts. So, the oldest son took his 9 camels, 1/2 of the herd. The middle son took his 6 camels, 1/3 of the herd. And the smallest son took his 2 camels, 1/9 of the herd. So, they divided 17 camels (9+6+2=17). And there was also one camel left, which they returned with gratitude to the generous and wise stranger. He then took his camel and went away. Peace among brothers was reestablished.

God bless all of those strangers we meet in our lives, who wisely and generously lend us those crucial EIGHTEENTH CAMELS, resolving our problems which we could not resolve alone.

Maintaining Health in a PanicDemic

My dear friend Sukoshi Rice has written the following article this week, and I would like to share it with you here.

“We are in the midst of a panic-demic of unusual proportions.  As my brother in NYC wrote, in a city of 8 million, 46 people have gotten this flu, but the whole city is in a state of panic.  We are in a perfect state to be manipulated by the media, a state of fear and uncertainty.  We are also in a perfect state to get a grip, to take a sensible look at what causes flu, why we get sick, and what we can do about it.

As to what causes flu, it is a scientist’s nightmare of viruses that shouldn’t even live in the same neighborhood getting together and having babies of viruses that shouldn’t even exist.  How did this happen?  Considering that literally hundreds of thousands of people cross borders, cross oceans and criss-cross the world on a daily basis, there is no challenge to imagine the possibilities this presents to human borne diseases.  On the up-side, this also presents us with a global economy, a fresh on-going exchange of ideas, cultural beliefs, goods and services.  The risk is there, but the benefits are huge.

Why do we humans get sick?  Mainly it is because our immune systems are weakened and allow infections, virus and bacteria to invade, to penetrate our natural barriers.  Our immune systems are our natural defense, like castle walls of old.  They were thick and strong, well built to stand up through an attack.  When we are exposed to viruses, if our immune systems are in good shape, they will be able to repel the attack and keep us safe.

We are strengthened by good food and water, exercise, calmness, sleep, good thoughts, love, even patting our pets.  Meditation and yoga, Reiki and massage, Tai Chi and many other Eastern modalities are beneficial.   We are weakened by processed, unnatural food, too much food, not enough water, sedentary habits, stressed out agitated thoughts, hatefulness, prejudice, and being stingy mean individuals.  We are weakened by FEAR and WORRY, which put us in a state of anxiety and invite disease.

Now is the time to get real about our health.  If the predictions are correct this flu will die out and may come back as Godzilla.  We have all summer and fall to eat well and naturally, get out in the fresh air and get ourselves in shape.”
